Dunno why, but every time my hubby brings veggies home, he will make sure cabbage is not missed out ! Not that it is his favorite, but he just wants to bring one. And he simply smiles and cracks PJ’s : ‘This one came for free ! Buy carrots, get cabbage absolutely FREE!’. I get so annoyed ……. reason, there was a day when my fridge had 4 Big cabbages lined in a row! And i too made sure he gets to eat some cabbage delicacies all through the week .
My son likes this sukki/playa when it is stuffed into his chapathi. Here is the recipe to make stuffed cabbage chapati/paratha.

- 1 cup cabbage shredded
- 1 onion
- 2 tspn moong dal (optional)
- A pinch of turmeric
- 1 tspn Mustard seeds
- 3-4 curry leaves
- 1 green chilly
Add oil in a pan, when hot , add mustard seeds, allow it to sputter, add slit green chilly + curry leaves
