Pomegranate Thambli

 This red fruit is loaded with fiber and also rich in antioxidants. Pomegranate juice can be best given for conditions of upset stomach. It will beat the crap out of all those germs in your tummy and intestines! Or if you have the sundried pomegrate peel, you could try this recipe. This is my Udupi aunts recipe for upset stomach’s.

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 one inch sundried skin of pomegranate
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 tspn of jeera
  • 4-5 peppercorns
  • one small ball of tamarind

To Temper:

  • Mustard seeds
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 2 dry red chilly’s

Method:

Boil the sun dried skin in 1/2 cup of water for about 10 – 15 mins. Throw away the skin

Use this water to grind together all the ingredients (grind it coarsely)

Temper with mustard seeds + curry leaves + red chillies
