Dill leaves dosa / Green Dosa/ Sabasgi Pole

Dill leaves /Sabsige soppu  are very flavorful, wispy and fernlike and have a soft, sweet taste. It has very good digestive properties and it can help cure Diarrhea/Dysentery. Making Dill Dosa batter is very simple, just add Dill leaves and jaggery to Neer-Dosa batter and it is done.


  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1/4 cup grated coconut
  • 1/4 cup of Dill leaves ( washed and cut)
  • 1/2 cup jaggery syrup
  • salt to taste

Method:                                                                                                                                                                        Soak rice for a minimum of 5-6 hrs and then drain out the water and grind it along with coconut, dill leaves,jaggery syrup to a very fine consistency (when pressed between fingers the mixture should not feel grainy). Add salt .            Note:  The batter consistency should be somewhere between Normal dosa and Neer dosa.Not too thin or thick

Heat tava, Sprinkle a few drops of water ,the water should sizzle and evaporate away. This means the pan is hot enough to make dosas

                            Grease a little oil on tava .Pour a ladle of batter using very little pressure, swirl the ladle in concentric circles, to spread out the batter.When the batter is fully spread, spray a few drops of vegetable oil all over the dosa. Cook on medium-high heat till the bottom side of the dosa becomes lightly brown  GD1
