Shavige Payasam

Noodles payasa is the name given to this recipe by my son. Vermicelli is one of the most common sweet dish that is prepared all round the year for any festival.


  • 1 cup of Vermicelli
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of milk maid (condensed milk) or Sugar
  • 1/4 tspn of cardamom powder
  • few roasted dry fruits ( cashews and raisins )
  • 2 tspn of Ghee


 Take a thick bottom vessel, heat 2 tspn of ghee and roast the vermicelli until golden brown. Keep aside                           

To the same pan, add milk and bring to boil, now add roasted vermicelli and cook until done                                      

To this add milkmaid ,roasted cashews and raisins, stir and simmer for few mins. Remove from flame and serve
