Yam is  a very rich source of starch, vitamins and minerals.

  • 4-5 pieces of  Yam
  • 2 tbspn of sooji rava
  • ½ tbspn of rice flour
  • 1 tspn of jeera /cumin powder
  • 1 tspn of coriander powder
  • 1 tspn of red chilly powder
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • A pinch of hing ( asafoetida)
  • Salt to taste

Wash and peel off the yam skin.Cut into  thin round slices and put the pieces immediately in a bowl of cold water ( this is to preserve the  freshness and making sure that they don’t turn brown)

Mix rest of the ingredients together in a bowl ( this has to be dry , do not add any water)

Now coat the yam with this mixture and tava fry/shallow fry on a LOW flame ( high/medium flame will only burn them , leaving them uncooked). Sprinkle little water on top occasionally .And keep it covered while cooking
